I was taking a look at the stats on the old blog and saw that an older post of mine about the most expensive home sales in Tippecanoe County in 2021 is still getting all kinds of views. I get it, actually—it’s fun to take a look at some of these dreamy homes. So fun that I decided I really wanted to do the same thing for 2023.
1823 homes sold in Tippecanoe County in 2023. If we look at the 10 most expensive of those home sales, they sold from $946,813 (#10) all the way up to $1,350,000 (#1). They averaged $262/square foot. (Reflecting back to 2021, the top 10 homes sold for $750,000 or more. We’ve seen QUITE the equity growth over the past two years!)
These ten homes averaged 42.2 days on the market (that means that they accepted offers in less than 6 weeks!). Whew!
It’s a fifty-fifty split between West Lafayette and Lafayette, with 5 homes sold in each city. Let’s dive in, shall we?
#10: $946,813
This gorgeous new construction home in Lafayette has 5,500 square feet of living space (hello, massive finished basement), five bedrooms, a bonus room, and more. Talk about spreading out!
#9: $957,750
This Lafayette home sits on a gorgeous 2.8-acre lot. It’s practically a sanctuary in the middle of so.many.trees. The floor-to-ceiling windows really allow for a great view of that gorgeous pool, too. Sign me up for MUCH relaxing in an environment like this.
#8: $1,025,000
Have you SEEN all the gorgeous homes going up in the Admirals Landing area in south Lafayette? This stunning Grey Oak Custom Homes build has all of the upgrades like two laundry rooms, custom millwork, and zoned heating and cooling that really take a home up a notch. And it has the most gorgeous deck in the back.
#7: $1,025,000
#7 and #8 are ties, and boy, is this one magnificent. It sits on a 10-acre lot on Kingswood Road! Can you imagine having that kind of space to roam the outdoors? This house just has so much beautiful custom work. And the best part might just be the two outbuildings on the property, which are heated and cooled and have water. Man, sign me up for that after a long day of showing houses! Peace and quiet, here I come (do you sense a theme here?)!
#6: $1,095,000
Kingswood Road in West Lafayette just has such gorgeous homes, so it’s no surprise to see another one on this list. Isn’t the mature landscaping in this house’s front yard fantastic? The home has so many windows and so much natural light. I would NEVER get tired of that.
#5: $1,100,000
This private retreat is tucked away on the outskirts of West Lafayette. And this traditional home even comes complete with a carriage house. While it certainly could use a little updating, you can’t beat the location, the view, or the bones of this gorgeous home.
#4: $1,106,000
I love me a beautiful ranch home, and this is it! The built-ins and storage everywhere are my love language. And a massive screened-in porch in the back? Get out of here. Add in a theater room and hot tub, and this is the perfect home for entertaining again and again.
#3: $1,300,000
First of all, this porch is just gorgeous. Can’t you imagine sitting out there with a nice drink on a late summer evening? This house has so many cool details that indicate that this is top-notch craftsmanship. The gorgeous flooring, arched windows, crown molding, and other details are what make this home feel so high-end.
#2. $1,310,000
This home has exclusive access to Wea Creek and a gorgeous pond on an 11-acre lot. Everything about this home screams luxurious, including the gourmet kitchen, the windows, and the pool and pool house in the back of the home. There is also space for seven cars between two garages, so this is the perfect home for the car enthusiast. And of course, it comes with a theater room, gym, and bar.
#1. $1,350,000
Here is the Kingswood neighborhood in West Lafayette again, and this home does not disappoint. While it didn’t sell for quite the asking price of $1,499,900, it still sold for a cool $1,350,000 in July. That’s nearly 9,000 square feet of grandeur, from the two-story great room to the massive kitchen with luxury appliances. I’ve got to say that it might be the basement that really does it for me—a full second kitchen, theater, home gym, and den? Yes, please!
