Hey Realtor friends, this one is for you!
When it comes to your business and professional growth, what are your goals? Has anyone asked you that recently? Annually? Semi-annually? Do you have a plan to achieve those goals broken down into annual, monthly, weekly, and daily habits?
What sort of experience does the consumer get as a result of your affiliation with the brokerage you have chosen?
When it comes to real estate brokerages, there is no shortage of options. From gigantic, national brands, to locally owned boutique offices, you have plenty of choices. Each has a culture, a vibe, a reputation, but sometimes it’s hard to sort through it all. Do you want big? Small? Independent?
These are questions I’ve been very interested in throughout my entire real estate career. Here is my list of the top five considerations when selecting a real estate brokerage.
- Technology: Do they offer any? It’s no secret that our industry has become increasingly dependent on technology. From electronic lockboxes to e-signatures to client databases and follow up, what are the tools being offered to you and are they updated regularly? Does your company have the backend support to keep this technology at the front of industry standards and changes?
- Marketing: Is it helpful? Does it work easily or will you still need to enable the help of another person to bring your marketing to life? Your brand is critical to letting buyers and sellers know how you might eventually represent THEM!
- Coaching: Are you growing? Do you have bigger goals and dreams? Who is walking you towards them? The accountability and clarity a good coach can offer you is invaluable.
- Training: There’s no doubt our industry is changing. In fact, as I write this blog, we’re preparing for one of the biggest industry disruptors to date. Are you ready? Are you talking about it? Is it the elephant in the room? Are you winging it and hoping for the best? I certainly hope not because you’re coaching your clients through what is likely one of the largest financial transactions of their lives! Practice with your peers, perform with your clients!
- Support: A great Realtor cannot possibly handle everything on his or her own. From financials to client events, are you getting the back and support to keep you in front of your clients while still accomplishing all that needs to be done? Who do you go to for help?
