I love a good purge. There’s nothing better than making closets and storage rooms feel more spacious by getting rid of excess! Recently, we did a closet purge, and I wanted to give these great pieces of clothing to a local organization. I asked my Facebook friends where to give locally, not knowing I had had many options! I thought you might like to know, in case you’re doing a cleanout.
Also, keeping textiles out of the landfill is a great thing to do for the environment. We generate about 11 million tons of textile waste each year in the United States, and most of that ends up in landfills. And some of those textiles take over 200 years to decompose. So why not give that clothing a second life instead?
