If you haven’t checked out the new West Lafayette Wellness Center, you MUST! This facility just opened in late January, and it really has something for every member of the family.
Upon entering, you’ll see the soaring ceilings with an abundance of natural light shining into the atrium. It is such a welcome sight on a cold winter day!
Three community rooms are available to rent, including one with kitchen access. Or, if you have a large gathering, the room walls can actually be opened to create one large room.
One of my favorite spaces is the first-floor workout studio. The iPad on the wall outside the space allows you to select one of more than six hundred preloaded workouts. Grab some friends, push start, and the instructor will lead you from the large screen within the studio—your class choice on your schedule! I’m not sure that working out gets a whole lot better than that.
Another awesome feature is the indoor walking track overlooking two gym spaces. This is a great place to get your steps in no matter the weather! Rain or shine, there’s no reason you can’t meet your goals.
The crown jewel of this facility (at least in the eyes of my kids) is the aquatic area. You can splash and play in the zero-depth entrance pool, swim laps, or even walk in the vortex pool that pushes a current against you.
In the future, the center is planning to offer summer camp programs for kids and youth sports programming. We are so grateful to have such an incredible resource to help our community stay healthy!
Whether you’re looking for group exercise classes, youth programs, or state-of-the-art fitness equipment, there’s something for everyone in the 73,000 square feet of recreational space!
The icing on the cake…it’s connected to the trail system in West Lafayette! That means many of us can ride our bikes there for a little bit of extra exercise.
For details on membership costs, go here. A membership includes use of the aquatic facility, indoor walking track, and gym equipment. It also includes childcare while you work out, use of locker rooms, and member pricing on fee-based programs and classes offered at the center.
