When my husband turned 40 a few years ago, I was all out of great gift ideas. So, I did the unthinkable and got him (us) a dog. And, while this was legitimately a part of our pre-marital counseling (“Stacy has never and will never have a dog”) . . . the tides have turned. Turns out, Franklin Grove is one of our greatest investments. He has reminded me of the importance of slowing down, spending quality time with others, and celebrating every time someone comes into our home (sorry for the pummeling, Mom!)
So, what sorts of things do you do with your doggos in Greater Lafayette? Here are some of my suggestions:
Hiking
-Prophetstown State Park
-Horticulture Park—Purdue Arboretum
-Happy Hollow Park
-Wabash Heritage Trail
-Tippecanoe Co Amphitheater
-Clegg Gardens
Running (off-leash dog parks)
-Cumberland Dog Park
-Happy Hollow Dog Park
-Shamrock Dog Park
-Riley Park Dog Park (Delphi)
-Fair Oaks Farms Dog Park (Fair Oaks)
Shopping (for winter fun indoors!)
-Rural King
-Home Depot
-Lowe’s
-Menards
Dining (pet-friendly patios!)
-Brokerage Brewing Co
-Dog N Suds
-East End Grille
-Teays Brewing
In August, you have to experience the Pooch Plunge put on by Lafayette Parks & Recreation when they shut down Tropicanoe Cove. Insane fun.
And, if you’re as lucky as we are at The Russell Company, you might just find out you have a pet-friendly office!
Many thanks to my dear friend, Jen, who is the mommy of Franklin’s BFFs, Libby and Lucy. She is a superior dog mom!
