If you haven’t ventured to downtown Lafayette lately, there’s a LOT going on! There are new boutiques, businesses, restaurants, and another fabulous coffee shop! It’s so nice to see that the downtown is still thriving with all that’s happened in the past year.
Reveille Coffee Bar opened in late October 2020 at 835 Main Street. Their chic, French vibe is felt from the moment you step off the street. The cool tile and bistro tables will be lovely this spring, but for now you can enjoy the beautiful setting inside—it’s so intimate and cozy! The interior is beautifully done with gorgeous wallpaper, an abundance of seating options, and everything is served on fine china! In this day of takeaway Styrofoam, that’s a real treat.
As you’d expect at a coffee shop, the menu has everything from café au lait to ice lattes and everything in between. (Tall flat white with almond milk for me! Yum!) Of course, there are tea options and hot chocolate, too!
True to their own identity, Reveille encourages you to shop small. They serve Tinker Coffee, Mary Lou Doughnuts, and pastries from Smitty Bread (of COURSE you need a pain au chocolat when you go here—that’s what I got, and it was fabulous). And, just as you expect when you visit those locations, you won’t be disappointed in the quality.
Bonus: Reveille makes delicious fresh soup every single day! You can take a bowl to go with some of that delicious Smitty Bread, too!
So, if you’re looking for a different, quiet space to read, study, or just be, I highly recommend that you give this coffee shop a try. Check out Reveille soon—they’re open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
The more we support these small businesses during this time, the more we can help ensure that they’re all around when this pandemic is over. If you have a favorite Greater Lafayette small business that you’d like to see me review, drop me a comment below!
