You\nlikely either love it or you loathe it. According to&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/e-cloth.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">e-cloth.com<\/a>, \u201cThe term \u2018spring clean\u2019 dates to around 1855\u20131860, but the\nact of spring cleaning began far back in to the distant past.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This decades-old\ntradition largely evolved as a means of freshening rooms after a long, stuffy\nwinter, airing out soot-covered interiors in homes heated by fireplaces during\nthe cold months. In those days, people rarely bathed or washed clothing during\nthe winter months, so spring cleaning was desperately needed once the cold\nabated and everything started to warm up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now, many people\nutilize the warmer weather and longer days for cleaning windows, washing under\nand behind refrigerators and vacuuming under couch cushions (among other\nthings).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For many people, the\nneed for a big spring cleaning may not feel so important, but there are still\nplenty of folks who look forward to the annual deep clean and purge in the\nspring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So, what to clean in\nyour house? Here are some ideas!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Wash curtains and dust\nblinds:<\/strong> Use a damp rag, a microfiber blind duster, or\nyour vacuum cleaner and attachment on the blinds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Vacuum mattresses and\nwash mattress pads<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Clean and sanitize\nshower curtains <\/strong>Add a cup of vinegar\nto your washing machine\u2019s regular wash cycle (in addition to laundry soap).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Clean the junk drawer<\/strong> Consider buying small baskets to corral like items if you want\nto be able to find things quickly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Reorganize the linen\ncloset<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Clean the range hood\nvent<\/strong> These attract all kinds of grease and gunk.\nFirst, remove the filters and wipe them down with hot water and Dawn in the\nsink after they\u2019ve soaked for 10 minutes. Clean gunk off the hood with the same\nwater and soap solution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Wipe down cabinet\nfronts<\/strong> Mix a 50\/50 solution of vinegar and warm\nwater, put it in a spray bottle, and mist it on the cabinets. Let the solution sit\nfor a minute or two, and then wipe clean with a soft cloth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Get a grip on that\nTupperware drawer<\/strong> Corralling all of\nthose little lids in a storage basket helps a lot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Scrub under the\nbathroom sinks<\/strong> Remove everything and\nwipe out the underside of the sink and cabinet with a damp rag.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Clean out the\nfireplace<\/strong> Clean the dust and soot from the floor and\ninterior walls of the fireplace. The brick around your fireplace may need cleaning,\nas well. A paste of cream of tartar and water is perfect for unpainted brick.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Wash pillows<\/strong> Wash pillows two at a time in a normal washing machine cycle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Wipe out the inside of\nthe fridge<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Dust ceiling fans<\/strong> The easiest way to do this is to slip a pillowcase over the\nblade and let all the dust fall in. You can also buy microfiber ceiling fan\ndusters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Wipe down air vents<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Spring cleaning\ndoesn\u2019t have to be just for your physical dwelling! Here are some other ideas\nto clean and purge every area of your life!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">-Delete unimportant\nemails and unsubscribe from email lists<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">-Match up that\nmismatched sock pile and get rid of the missing partners<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">-Dispose of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/consumers\/consumer-updates\/where-and-how-dispose-unused-medicines\">expired\nmedication<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">-Wash and and store\nwinter outerwear<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you\u2019re not going on\na spring break, why not spring clean?
