Here’s a recent one! Gotta love this crazy life.

4:40 a.m. The alarm goes off, and for approximately four seconds, I decide how much it *actually* matters to be healthy. Then, I mentally slap myself and get outta bed. In 20 minutes, I’ll be pounding a treadmill, so the mental game has to take shape quickly. My day actually started just before crawling in to bed at 9:15 last night. That’s when I laid out my clothes for the gym. It’s part of the prep—along with setting out my blender bottle, collagen peptides, and electrolyte drink, as well as my watch, heart rate monitor, and car key. Once I make it to the kitchen, I’m T-10 minutes to treadmill, so I’ve got to stay on task!

5:00 a.m. It’s time for Orangetheory fitness, one of the best additions of my life in the last four years. I love the pace. I love the people. And I love that the only decision I have to make is to show up. Beyond that, an amazing coach is telling me what to do next to grind it out for 60 minutes of heart-pumping activity.

6:00 a.m. Back home. This might be my favorite part of the day. Everyone but Frank (our Goldendoodle) is asleep. Time to grab a quick shower and then settle onto my sofa for a few quiet moments with a hot cup of coffee. (In the winter, a fire in the fireplace is a must.) At some point, various members of my family will appear and vanish—first Dustin off to work. Then J onto the bus. Somewhere in there I’m getting myself ready for the day, helping our youngest do her hair, running the dog in and out the back door, and prepping dinner, too!

8:15 a.m. It’s GO time! Today I’m headed about 10 minutes down the road for a final walkthrough with some buyer clients. The sellers have moved out, so we need to ensure they didn’t forget anything, and that they left the house in the same or better condition than when we toured it. Good news: it looks great!

9:00 a.m. Closing time. These buyers are so excited, as am I. They got the most awesome house!!

10:00 a.m. Closing number two of the day. Gotta zip across town to another title company. This buyer has already moved into the house, so no final walkthrough necessary.

10:30 a.m. Soooooo, I’m right by Mary Lou doughnuts. I can’t.just.drive.by. My staff NEEDS doughnuts. I NEED DOUGHNUTS! Hahaha. Okay, fine, negating that 5 a.m. workout, but oh well.

11 a.m. Office time. Emails are endless. I’m digging through what I can, sifting the urgent from the “can be read later.” It’s also time for my weekly market update. I open the Indiana Regional MLS to see where the numbers stand for Tippecanoe County. How many have sold in the last week? How many were listed? How many options do we have for current buyers right now? Checking this week after week is so insightful.

11:15 a.m. Team meeting. We have so much going on. Always good to check in and see where we stand on our current pending files, as well us upcoming listings and buyers we’re house-hunting for.

12:00 p.m. Break the fast! (Any intermittent fasters out there??) My word. So hungry. Must eat now. But I’m slammed, so I’ll eat while I get back to sorting emails.

12:30 p.m. Check in with my assistant, Liz. What on earth do we have this afternoon? Are we ready? Of course, because she’s awesome. Docs are prepared. Another quick check of the IRMLS sold comparables before I head in to three back-to-back listing appointments.

1:00 p.m. Second visit with a West Lafayette seller. They’ve done a beautiful job preparing their home to sell since the last time I was here. I actually had to dodge roof shingles to get to the front door. They’re getting a new roof right now! Nice! We walk through all the listing documents and ensure we’re all on the same page for timelines.

1:45 p.m. Back to the office to meet another West Lafayette seller. Their home will go on the market later this week. We’re finalizing paperwork and ensuring timelines, too. We already have their listing photos back, and they’re AWESOME! I cannot wait to get this one live.

2:15 p.m. Third listing appointment of the day. Mercy sakes we are slammin’! This is another fabulous West Lafayette opportunity. I’d love to get it, but I know they’re interviewing a few brokers—and that’s a good thing. I like for people to know they have options, and as a salesperson, I like competing. (Ha!) This is my first time touring this beautiful home. The seller has done a great job preparing it for sale. Just a few things to complete. We sit at their dining room table to discuss the process and the comparable sold properties. What’s the best listing strategy? She brewed me the most delicious cup of pour-over coffee.

3:00 p.m. Zip home. Time to get our 12-year-old to baseball practice. It’s anyone’s guess whether he’s remembered to let the dog out after getting home from school.

3:15 p.m. Incoming! 8th grader is home. She’s grabbing a snack before heading to the athletic complex for her track meet. Whoops—gotta get the 6th grader to baseball practice. I’m so thankful it’s all so close!

3:30 p.m. Dash to the crosswalk to meet our 3rd grader after her school day. She’s always so full of energy and words. So many words. Love hearing about her day.

4:00 p.m. Load the bag with snacks and drinks. We have a full night ahead, and there’s no time for dinner. (Boo!)

4:30 p.m. Head to the West Lafayette athletic complex for 7th and 8th grade track meet. It’s so fun to watch all of these kids compete. I cannot believe how much they’ve grown. My husband is on the mic, emceeing the event, while I do my duties as “ribbon girl.” My mom came to watch the meet, so we finally have a chance to catch up, too. Text from a client: “Must see a home tomorrow.” Thankfully, I can get it all set up while sitting in the press box. Messaging a few contractors to follow up on needs for clients. Here come some race results. Sort ribbons. Back to texts and emails. And this little dance goes until the end of the meet—ribbons, texts, emails, repeat.

8:30 p.m. The meet is still going. My husband leaves with our 3rd grader. Time to start the evening routine at home . . . but we still have a few races to complete. I’m now standing in on the mic. Send help. This makes me so nervous. HAHA.

9:30 p.m. Walk home from track complex. While the snacks we packed were helpful, I’m still hungry. And, while technically I’m in my fasting window, I can’t think straight. Grilled ham and cheese it is. Thankful for my husband, who anticipated this might happen, and prepped a sandwich for me! Sneak upstairs and kiss all three kids. One is already asleep. One is stalling on a necessary shower. One is finishing homework.

9:45 p.m. Set out gym clothes, and crawl into bed.
